After-school career guidance event for schoolchildren: «First steps in the profession: «Logistics and merchandising».

February 20, 2025, according to the action plan of the college departments, a meeting with schoolchildren took place. Our educational institution has been visited by such schools as:

• MSI «Comprehensive school No. 2 of the city of Tobyl of the education department of Kostanay district» of the Education Department of the akimat of Kostanay region;
• MSI «Comprehensive school No. 17 of the education department of the city of Kostanay» of the Education Department of the akimat of Kostanay region;
• MSI «School — gymnasium No. 18 of the education department of the akimat of the city of Kostanay» of the Education Department of the akimat of the Kostanay region.

Objectives of the event:

• providing career guidance to students in the process of choosing a training profile and the field of future professional activities;
• familiarize with modern professions;
• generate interest in professions;
• answering schoolchildren questions about the admission process and college studies.

The moderator of the meeting — E.V. Gromova and college activists told 9th grade students about the prospects for secondary vocational education. At the moment, it is very important to make an informed choice of the future profession. To this end, the event was held. In a playful way, schoolchildren learned about the factors affecting the choice of profession, got acquainted with the characteristics of college professions, get some advice and recommendations on this topic. College students presented their specialties and, using a personal example, talked about their career choice path.

Expected results:

• Raising awareness of logistics and merchandising professions among schoolchildren.
• Creation of interest in these areas of activity.
• Development of analytical abilities, creativity and teamwork skills.
• Help in the conscious choice of future profession.

Schoolchildren were keenly interested in the conditions of admission, passing points and the possibility of obtaining scholarships. The moderator answered all the questions in detail, trying to dispel doubts and help the guys make an informed choice of their future profession. The meeting ended with the distribution of information booklets and an invitation to college for training.

The meeting was successful, at a high level, schoolchildren showed interest in studying in college, communication was established, student- schoolchildren. It is recommended to hold such events regularly to further involve young people in vocational education.
