Competition of professional skills in competencies «Visual merchandising and window display», «Freight forwarding»

In the Institution «Kostanay Higher College of Kazpotrebsoyuz» within the framework of the department «Management, Marketing and Logistics» in the period from 04/14/18/2025, a professional skills competition «Visual merchandising and display art», «Freight forwarding» was held. The organizers of the competition are teachers of special disciplines Sysoeva A.I., Gromova E.V., Bardyuzha L.P.

The purpose of the competition is to demonstrate creative potential, test theoretical and practical skills in the field of window dressing, providing expedition services, and self-realization of students.

The content of the competition task is the design of the showcase, the development of cargo delivery routes.

The competition assignment for the competence «Visual merchandising and display design» included:

• creating a showcase design;

• execution of the decor according to the sketch;

• Window display design.

The development of a showcase project on a given topic using a variety of materials, a creative approach to solving the task, and an author’s interpretation were mandatory for the participants.

The competition task had several modules performed sequentially. Each completed module was evaluated separately.

Module A: Research, interpretation, showcase design concept.

Module B: Showcase design based on a given topic.

Module C: Production of decorative elements.

Module D: Completing the qualification task using props and decorations according to the sketch.

The participants presented their work after conducting an oral defense of the shop windows and noted that window decoration is a real art, where there are basic principles and rules; they talked about the specifics of working on their design.

For the «Freight Forwarding» competence, the task was to organize and make decisions regarding the development of routes and schedules for road transport during the supply of goods using the minimum cost of delivery criterion.

The evaluation was carried out both in relation to the results of the work and in relation to the process of completing the competitive work.
