Sunny Supermarket Tour





On the eve of Labor Day, as part of the implementation of the Regional Plan for the Year of Working Professions on September 10, 2025, students of the specialty 04140100 Marketing (by industry) visited the Solnechny Supermarket.
The tour was organized to familiarize students with the organization of the trading process, the study of modern sales technologies, methods of displaying goods, customer service, as well as the practical consolidation of theoretical knowledge gained in classes in the disciplines of the professional cycle. The main objective of the event was to show students the real process of a trading company, the introduction of sales technologies and customer service.
The event began with a welcoming speech from the supermarket administrator, who told the students about the development of the Solnechny chain, its positions in the regional market, key competitive advantages and plans for further development.
Further, the tour took place through the main areas of the shopping facility:
the Sales hall – it was demonstrated how the goods are displayed, promo zones and advertising storefronts are designed. Special attention was paid to the principles of merchandising, the proper location of goods and the formation of a customer route.
Cash register area – students got acquainted with the organization of cashiers’ work, the use of modern calculation technologies and automation systems.
During the tour, the students actively asked questions, were interested in the details of organizing marketing campaigns, methods of attracting customers and retaining regular customers. Representatives of the supermarket shared practical examples, talked about working with suppliers, introducing new products and analyzing customer demand.
The tour allowed students to consolidate the knowledge gained in classes in the disciplines of «Marketing» and «Merchandising», get acquainted with the real conditions of a trading company, expand their understanding of the practical application of marketing tools, see the relationship between theory and real professional activity, and increase motivation to study and pursue a future career in marketing.
The participants noted the high practical value of the event, expressed gratitude to the organizers of the tour and the supermarket administration for the opportunity to gain new knowledge and experience.
The tour was organized and conducted by teachers of special disciplines A.E. Kotkina, who also noted the high level of student engagement and emphasized the importance of such events for the professional development of future marketing specialists.
