“Legal Literacy in Action: Lecture on Statelessness, Refugee Status, and Human Rights for Law Students”

On April 21, 2026, a lecture was held at the Kostanay Higher College of Kazpotrebsoyuz for second-year students majoring in Law. The event featured a representative of the Kostanay branch of the Kazakhstan International Bureau for Human Rights and Rule of Law.
During the lecture, important and socially relevant topics were discussed, including issues of statelessness, the procedures and specifics of determining refugee status, as well as key aspects of human rights protection and compliance. The speaker provided detailed explanations of both international and national legal frameworks and shared practical examples from professional experience.
Particular attention was given to the practical component of the session. Students worked on case studies, analyzed legal situations, collaboratively proposed solutions, and answered questions. This interactive format helped reinforce theoretical knowledge while developing skills in legal analysis, argumentation, and teamwork.
Such events contribute to fostering students’ awareness of human rights issues, enhancing their professional competencies, and preparing future specialists to address complex legal challenges.
